Separating Native Plant Seed From the Chaff
Public Welcome Free Event Chapter Social Hands-On/How-To Workshop Wheelchair Accessible Public Restroom Free Public Parking
Chris Kline, Director of Butterfly Ridge Butterfly Conservation Center and President of The Polygonia Foundation (TPF) will demonstrate how to separate a variety of native plant seeds from the chaff -- the first step in preparing native plant seeds for scarification/stratification/germination.
As the non-profit (501)(c)(3) education and conservation outreach arm of Butterfly Ridge Butterfly Conservation Center, The Polygonia Foundation provides seeds of native plants free of charge (donations accepted!) to help pollinator enthusiasts start with native plant gardening.
This is an informal gathering, so we'll have the opportunity to meet and chat with each other while providing TPF with invaluable assistance with their seasonal seed cleaning project. For more information about TPF's native plant seed distribution, visit their FaceBook page, "Ohio Native Plant Seed Exchange."
